Mrs. Joe Paul Dies Saturday in California
Mrs. Joe Paul, a former Estherville resident, died Saturday afternoon, May 6, 1972, in Castro Valley, Calif., where she had been making her home.

The body is being brought here to Fuhrman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church with burial in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Msgr. James H. Duhigg will officiate. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday and until time of the funeral on Wednesday. There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. today (Tuesday).

Mrs. Paul (Margaret) was born May 31, 1895, in Estherville. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wratten. She received her education in the Estherville schools.

She was married June 25, 1912, to Joseph Paul at Estherville. He was a Rock Island engineer until his retirement. Since 1961 they have lived in Mesa, Ariz., and in California.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Auxiliary of the B. of R. T.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Isabel) DeVere of Inglewood, Calif., and a grandson, Tom Magorno; two brothers, Walter Wratten of Cedar Rapids, and Harry Wratten of Estherville; three sisters, Mrs. Otto (Irene) Klein, Estherville; Mrs. Mary Stoddard of Mesa, and Mrs. Harriet Benson of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Francis who died as an infant, and Joseph who died in 1960. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 9, 1972)
