Mrs. Joseph Origer
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Joseph (Imogene Ellen) Origer, 80, Estherville, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church here with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Origer died Monday [June 27, 1977] night at Rosewood Manor.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight at Fuhrman Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services Thursday.

Mrs. Origer was born Oct. 10, 1896, at Pontiac, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Burns. She received her education in Pontiac schools and moved to Emmet County with her family in 1916.

She was married to Joseph Origer March 8, 1917, at Estherville, and the couple farmed in the Estherville area.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Mrs. Origer is survived by her husband, Joseph; seven sons, Joseph Origer, Mantera, Calif., Merrill Origer, Estherville, Galen Origer, Foley, Minn., William Origer, Estherville, Lewis Origer, Pueblo, Colo., and John Origer, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. James (Imogene) Dessel, West Union, and Mrs. James (Catherine) Kueny, Omaha, Neb.; 41 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Hersvig, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Mary Callahan, Battle Creek, Mich.; and two brothers, Clyde Burns, Reno, Nev., and Francis Burns, Elreno, Calif.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Baker, her parents, two sisters and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1977)
