Merrill James Origer, the son of Joseph Matthew and Imogene Ellen (Burns) Origer was born December 9, 1923, in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 83 years old.
Merrill received his education in the Gruver schools graduating from Gruver High School in 1942. Merrill farmed and lived in rural Estherville and had a farming partnership with his brothers, Bill and Bob.
On September 1, 1990, he was united in marriage to Joann Ryan in Estherville. The couple, moved into Estherville in 1996. For Hobbies, Merrill enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.
He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joann of Estherville; children, Patricia Hranac and her husband, Dr. Robert of Estherville; Kathleen Lockrem and her husband, Jim of Dolliver, Iowa; Thomas Ryan and his wife, Donna of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Michael Ryan and his wife, Jill of Spencer, Iowa; Jerry Ryan and his wife, Mindy of Corona, California; Dennis Ryan and his wife, Jill of Rock Valley, Iowa; Mark Ryan and his wife, Kay of LeMars, Iowa; Kelly Ryan and his wife, Janet of Hartford, South Dakota; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Imogene Dessel of Harrison, Arkansas; William Origer and his wife, Evelyn of Estherville; John Origer and his wife, Marian of Estherville; Catherine Kueny of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Patricia Origer of Pillager, Minnesota; Joann Origer of Mesquite, Nevada and also by many many nieces and nephews.
He has been preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary; and brothers, Joseph, Galen, Lewis and Robert.
