Estherville – Mrs. Leona Origer, 72, Harlingen, Tex., formerly of Estherville, died Sept. 26 at a hospital in Harlingen. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating and burial at the church cemetery.A rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight (Tuesday) at Fuhrman Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville.
Mrs. Origer was born July 2, 1904, in Luxemborg, Europe, to Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Oberweis and moved with her parents to the United States. They settled near Sheldon and after 10 years moved to the Estherville area. She was married to Adolph Origer in 1935 in Estherville. Mrs. Origer lived in Estherville until 15 years ago when she moved to Texas. She was a past president of the Palmville Retirement Club, San Benito, Tex., and was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include five sons, Leo Origer, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Paul Origer, Grinnell; Mark Origer, Denver, Colo.; David Origer, Estherville; and Gerald Origer, Houston, Tex.; and three daughters, Mrs. Louise Brodie, Spirit Lake; Mrs. Natalie Thompson, and Mrs. Rosalie Adams, Harlingen, Tex.; 26 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Tracy, Estherville.
