Henry Mester is Laid to Rest In Catholic Cemetery
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at nine o’clock at St. Patrick’s church, with Father J. J. Keane officiating, for Henry J. Mester, 77, who died here Thursday, June 1. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.

Henry Mester was born in Germany on March 12, 1867 and died June 1, at the age of 77 years, two months and twenty days. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Howard Reere [Heere] of Topeka, Kans., Mrs. Merrell Westerman of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Marie Heneman of Sioux City; Viola and Evelyn Mester of Cedar Rapids and four sons, Carl of Estherville; Joseph of Detroit, Leo of Storm Lake and Lewis serving with the armed forces overseas, his estranged widow, two sisters, one brother and ten grandchildren. One son preceded him in death in 1932.

All of the children except Lewis, overseas, were here for services Saturday morning. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 8, 1944)
