Frank Meyer Service Held in Estherville
Funeral services were held for Frank Meyer, 74, Estherville in St. Patrick’s Catholic church Monday at 10:30 with the Rev. Father Fish officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Estherville.

Mr. Meyer, the father of Mrs. Ed Joyce, Emmetsburg, and Mrs. Clifford Blighton, Graettinger, died at his home Saturday, March 28, following a lingering illness. Besides Mrs. Joyce and Mrs. Blighton, survivors include his widow; a brother and a sister, John Meyer and Mrs. Brown Guenther of Conception, Mo.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ed Bradley, Frank Christensen, William Leduc, Martin Refsell, Frank Kemp and Henry Bratrud, all of Graettinger.

Mr. Meyer was born in Missouri. He had lived on a farm near Graettinger until retiring a few years ago, when he moved to Estherville. (Democrat, Emmetsburg, IA, April 2, 1959)

Frank Meyer, 74, Former Local Resident, Dies at Estherville
Frank Meyer, 74, of Estherville, former long-time Graettinger farmer and Graettinger resident, died Saturday morning at his home in Estherville following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Patrick’s church in Estherville, with the Rev. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery at Estherville. Pallbearers were Henry Bratrud, Ed Bradley, Wm. Leduc, Frank Kempf, Frank Christensen and Martin Refsell.

Mr. Meyer was born April 21, 1884, at Conception, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meyer. He received his education in schools at Conception. He was married to Lora Luke September 21, 1909, at Conception. They lived there for five years and then moved to a farm east of Graettinger where they farmed until 1954.

At that time they moved to Graettinger. They made their home in Estherville for the past three years. The Meyers would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this September.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Vera) Joyce of Emmetsburg and Mrs. Clifford (Arlene) Blighton of Graettinger, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, John, of Conception, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Forwin Guenther, of Guilford, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
