Obituary of Mrs. Katherine Lynch
Mrs. Katherine [Catherine] Lynch, 37 years old, wife of Roy Lynch died March 16, at the Mercy hospital at Waverly. A babe was born to her on March 7, which was dead at birth. Mrs. Lynch has been ill with flu for about two weeks.

There are five children left motherless by the untimely death of this young woman. Marian, age 14; Eugene 12; Marcella 8, Ruth Ann 4 and Patsy almost 2. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her passing two sisters, Mrs. R. C. Yepsen of Detroit, and Mrs. W. A. Swift of Estherville; three brothers, D. V. Bagan of Ft. Dodge; P. J. of Waterloo; Dennis and Will of Estherville. The father died 31 years ago and the mother 12 years ago in May. Mrs. Lynch was born in Estherville January 3, 1891, and lived here during her girlhood. She was married on November 6, 1913, to Roy Lynch also of this place. During their married life she lived at various towns and cities in Iowa and for the past four years have been at Clarkville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock from the St. Patrick’s church this city and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. Those from out of town present for the services were Frank Bagan, of Chester, uncle of the deceased; Mrs. Pat Cranahan of Chester, Mrs. Will Carey, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bagan and Miss Mayme Doyle of Albert Lea, Minn. The L. E. Trees family of Fairmont, the Molson and Reed families of Dolliver and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Swift of Graettinger. Mrs. Roy Lynch Former Resident, Dies at Waverly
Mrs. Roy Lynch, 37 years old, of Clarkville died Friday morning in the St. Joseph’s hospital at Waverly after undergoing an operation a week before. She has been in poor health all winter. She and her husband were formerly residents of Estherville and left here about fifteen years ago.

Katherine Cecilia Bagan was born January 3, 1891, on a farm near Dolliver and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Bagan. She was married to Roy Lynch in November, 1912. She is survived by her husband and five children, Marion, Eugene, Marsella, Ruth Ann and Patrick Joe; two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Swift of Estherville, and Mrs. A. R. Yepton of Detroit, Mich., four brothers, William and D. A. Bagan of Estherville, David of Fort Dodge and Patrick of Waterloo.

Funeral services were held here Tuesday morning at the St. Patrick Catholic church with the Rev. William Veit officiating. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1928)
