Fredrick D. Lyman Dies at Age 94
A long-time Estherville resident, Fredrick Delance Lyman, 94, died at the Good Samaritan Center Tuesday [September 26, 1967] at 5:30 p.m. from infirmities of old age. He had been a resident of the center since 1963.

Mr. Lyman was born in Groton, [Erie] County, Ohio, July 24, 1873 to Lewis and Genta (Stone) Lyman. He received his education in Ohio. He moved with his parents by covered wagon to Petersburg, Minn., when he was a boy. He moved to Estherville when he was 18.

He was married to Emma Sturm in 1932 [1931] at Estherville. He was employed by the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1943. He was a member of the Christian Church here.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clyde Martin, Estherville; one niece, Mrs. Ora Brown, Estherville; and a nephew, Fred Martin, Estherville. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, with Rev. Robert Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 27, 1967)
