Margaret G. (Anderson) Loftis, the daughter of Roy and Grace (Salisbury) Anderson, was born February 28, 1922, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 87.

She received her education in the Emmetsburg schools.

On March 10, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to William Loftis. After their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville and Margaret was employed at the Gardston Hotel in Estherville, Stafford's Hamburger Shop and WADCO Foods until her retirement. Bill died August 23, 1987. In her leisure time Margaret enjoyed fishing, playing games and yard keeping.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Margaret's memory are her 3 children, Jean Peta and her husband, Clifford of Estherville; Jim Loftis and his wife, Dianne of Estherville; Edna Payne of Red Oak, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Florence Doughty of California; MaryAnn Doyle of Arizona; Viola Guthrie of Kentucky; 1 brother, Archie Anderson of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Margaret in death were her husband; her parents; and 5 brothers, Harris, Oscar, John, Hobart and Roy Jr.
