Frank Koch Dies; Lived Long Time in County
Death came suddenly to Frank Koch last Sunday [December 7, 1947] afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital at four o’clock. He had been a patient in the hospital for three days. Mr. Koch died of a heart attack which was the second one he had had in recent years.Mr. Koch was well known in the city having been in the produce business here and later connected with the Purity Yeast Company as one of the heavy stockholders. Regardless of his physical condition he was always pleasant and always kept on duty. In recent years he has been in the real estate business.
Mr. Koch was born in Eppe, Waldeck, Germany on December 28, 1870. His early education was in Germany. At the age of 19 he came to this country to make his home. He was united in marriage to Louis Haber at Calmer, Iowa, in 1901 and resided there until he came to this city to make his home in 1927.
He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Matt Carey of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Eldon Wallace of Odebolt, and Mrs. Joe Casseryl of Boone.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning from St. Patrick’s Church, the Rev. Father J. J. Keane officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1947)
