Mrs. Ed. Kirchner, Pioneer of Vicinity, Died Tuesday
After a prolonged illness of 22 years, Mrs. Ed Kirchner passed away at her home seven miles north of this city. Mrs. Kirchner had been a patient sufferer. She had been a resident of this vicinity for 40 years and regardless of the fact that she has been ill for many years she has made a host of friends during her early life that have been of the lasting kind.

Mrs. Kirchner before her marriage was Victoria Josephine Kriebs. She was born March 25, 1887 [per cemetery stone, 1886], across the state line in Minnesota.

Mrs. Kirchner is survived by her husband and two sons, Elmer and Roy, residing at home and one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Schnepper of Huntington.

The funeral services were held from St. Patrick’s church this morning at 9:30. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 3, 1940)

Mrs. Kirchner is Called
Mrs. Ed Kirchner, 53, passed away at her home, seven miles north of Estherville, this morning following an illness of 22 years duration. Mrs. Kirchner’s condition had been growing steadily worse recently.

Rosary will be recited at the Kirchner home Wednesday evening at 9:30 and the service at St. Patrick’s Catholic church will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Victoria Josephine Kriebs was born March 25, 1887, in Minnesota. She had been a resident of this vicinity for forty years, and most recently lived on a farm just north of the Minnesota state line.

Mrs. Kirchner is survived by her husband, two sons at home, Elmer and Roy; a daughter, Mrs. William Schaeper of Huntington; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Koenecke, Estherville, and Mrs. Mary Clements, Sherburn, Minn.; and three brothers, John Kreibs at Dawson, Minn., August at Hackansack, Minn., and Felix of Carlton, Ore.
