Cletus Keogh Dies at 87
Cletus L. Keogh, 87, Estherville, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 9, 1972, at Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church with Father Laurence Burns officiating. Burial will be made in St Patrick’s cemetery with military graveside services. There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Keogh was born Sept. 3, 1894, at Waterville, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Keogh. He received his education in the Waterville schools. On Feb. 4, 1920, he was married to Mary Doyle, Estherville. They made their home in Estherville and he worked as a conductor on the M. & S.L. now known as Chicago Northwestern. In February of 1970, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

A member of the V.F.W., Keogh was a veteran of the World War I with service overseas. He also had membership in the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and St. Patrick’s Church in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Robert of Toledo, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary Jean) Thiel of Estherville and Mrs. Roland (Colleen) Douglas, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Keogh, Rochester, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Eileen Plunkett, Detroit, Mich.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one grandson, his parents and one sister.

Pallbearers serving at his funeral will be Justin Fretag, Emmanuel Stavros, Pat Kelly, Kenneth Thiel, Sam Justice and Malverne Moller. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, at any time today until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 11, 1972)
