Mrs. William (Harriet) Fitzgerald, 99, Estherville, died Monday evening at Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services are pending at Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 16, 1971)

Fitzgerald Funeral Set
Services for Mrs. Harriet Fitzgerald, who died Monday, Nov. 15, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Church, Estherville.

The Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg will officiate at the services and burial will be made in St. Patrick’s cemetery. There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. today at Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fitzgerald, 99, died at Holy Family Hospital of complications due to advanced age.

She was born Sept. 12, 1872, at Marquette, Mich., to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sullivan. She received her education in the Marquette schools and taught school in Marquette for several years.

On June 29, 1897, she was married to William T. Fitzgerald, a Rock Island railroad official. In moving from place to place because of his railroad work, they first came to Emmet County in 1911 and returned in 1936. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.

Survivors are one son, Thomas C. Fitzgerald, Chicago; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, William, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
