John Donahue
Estherville – Funeral services for John D.[P.] Donahue, 85, Estherville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church, Estherville with Father A. O. Grendler officiating and burial at the church cemetery. Mr. Donahue died Sunday [September 7, 1975] morning at Holy Family Hospital.

Mr. Donahue was born October 23, 1889 [per cemetery records & SS death index, s/b 1890] at Cullum, Ill. to Mr. and Mrs. John Donahue and on January 15, 1913 was married to Catherine E. Kuhn at Ransom, Ill. They lived in Pocahontas several years before coming to Emmet County in 1920 where they farmed southeast of Estherville. They moved into Estherville in 1942 and on January 5, 1974, Mrs. Donahue died.

Survivors include two sons, Vincent, Emmetsburg, and Francis, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. W. D. (Margaret) Keith, Victorville, Calif.; four grandchildren; three brothers, James, Pocahontas; Tom, California; and Matt, Laurens. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 8, 1975)
