Mrs. Chukker’s Services Thursday in Estherville
Estherville – Mrs. Martin (Blanche Rachel) Chukker, 80, passed away Tuesday [October 15, 1974] at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Born Sept. 10, 1894 in Rockford, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Lucius Farnham, she attended Rockford area schools and graduated from Rockford High School in 1912. She taught in country schools in the Rockford area.

She was married to Martin Chukker on Aug. 26, 1914 and they celebrated their 60th anniversary this past August. They lived in Cleves, Iowa, for 19 years and then moved to Gruver for 31 years where Martin worked as a depot agent. They moved to Estherville after he retired in Marcy 1963.

Mrs. Chukker was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary and the Rock Island Club.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Dorothy Bush, Estherville; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Swisher, Haxtun, Colo., and Mrs. J. H. Givhan, Chicago.

Services for Mrs. Chukker will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home where friends may call until time of services Thursday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 16, 1974)
