E. G. Peterson, Ex-resident, Dies
Funeral services are pending for Eugene Glenn Peterson, 50, former Estherville resident who died yesterday at Divine Redeemer Hospital in South St. Paul, Minn., from a heart ailment.He was born June 17, 1919, in Humboldt to Charles and Hannah Peterson.
On Aug. 12, 1939, he was married to Rosalie Johnson at Estherville. He was employed at John Morrell & Co., in Estherville for 17 years and became International representative of Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union. In 1956, he was president of Local 79. He was active in political affairs and served as a delegate to several Democratic conventions.
He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Glenn E. Peterson, Kenosha, Wis., Larry Peterson, Ruthven, Mrs. Eugene (Janice) Mickleson, Terril, and Mrs. Ronald (Gloria) Johnson, Estherville; five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lester Weber, Fairmont; one niece and one nephew.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Services Today
Funeral services for Eugene Peterson were to be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Karl Nelson officiating. Reese-Henry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 30, 1970)
