Mrs. Ben Olson, 93, is Dead
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ben Olson, 93, are scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sandin funeral home followed by services at 2 o’clock in the Estherville Lutheran church with the Rev. L. G. Hinderaker officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Olson is survived by five children, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her three sons’ names are Cornell, John and Frank. The two daughters are Alice and Clara. Two other children, Alfred and Edith, died at an early age. Cornell and Alice, now Mrs. Allie Sando, live in Estherville. Frank lives at Ringsted. Clara, now Mrs. George Nolte, resides at Ames and John lives at Cropsey, Ida.

She died Monday [March 1, 1954] at 2 p.m. Mrs. Olson had been living with her son and daughter in Estherville.

Mrs. Olson was born Jane Johnson in Bergen, Norway, on March 25, 1860. Her family moved to Morris, Ill., in 1865. Mrs. Olson was confirmed by Rev. P. R. Rasmussen at Leisbon, Ill. She married Ben Olson at Paxson, Ill., in 1878. They moved to Estherville in 1904 where they farmed for a number of years. She was the last member of her immediate family.
