Herman Nauss Dies After Short Illness
Herman Nauss, 88, died at 5:55 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Nauss became ill 10 days before Christmas and entered the hospital Jan. 13.

A carpenter in his early years, he farmed most of his life in Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota. He married Anna Hafer while in Iona, Minn. She preceded him in death about 17 years ago. In 1915 Mr. Nauss and his family moved to a farm southwest of Estherville before retiring and moving to Estherville about 18 years ago. For the past six years he has been living with the Noel Daniels’ here.

Surviving his death are his three sons, Edward of Spirit Lake, Carl of Emmetsburg and Fred of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Ida) Martin of Sherburn, Minn., and Mrs. Noel (Rose) Daniels of Estherville, 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife and two sons.
