Mrs. Herman Nauss Resident Here Many Years Died Monday
Mrs. Herman [Anna Hafer] Nauss, a resident of this city for three years and of this county almost twenty years, passed away Sunday [December 27, 1936] at her home.Mrs. Nauss has been ill for the past few months and for sometime was a patient at the Coleman hospital where she has undergone two operations during recent weeks.
While in this county, Mrs. Nauss has acquired a host of friends who will miss her kind friendship. She was born on January 19, 1871 on farm at Pekin, Ill., where she resided during the early part of her life.
She was united in marriage on February 6, 1892, at Sibley, Ill. The couple moved to Iona, Minn., shortly after marriage. They made their home there thirteen years and then moved back to their original home at Sibley. After six years they moved again, this time to Scranton and then to Emmet county.
The funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Church of Christ at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Rev. Otis Lang, officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and four sons, Albert Nauss, of Algona; Edward Nauss of Superior; Fred Nauss of Estherville; Carl Nauss of Emmetsburg, and two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Martin of Sherburn, Minn., Mrs. Noel Daniels of Arnolds Park.
