Estherville – Services for Kenneth Edward Meadows, 73, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from Wednesday until time of services at Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Mr. Meadows died Sunday [March 6, 1977] night at his home. He was born May 15, 1903, in Estherville, the son of Charles and Nellie Meadows.

He received his education in Estherville schools, attended Morningside College for two years and earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1932.

Mr. Meadows was married to Ethel Marie Gustafson Aug. 27, 1932, at Miller, S.D. He lived in Estherville all his life, working for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad from 1928 until retiring in 1968.

He served as a member of the Estherville City Council since 1963 until the time of his death except for serving as mayor of Estherville for five months in 1971.

Mr. Meadows was a member of the North Star Lodge A.F. and A.M., Temple Council of Royal and Select Masons, Royal Arch Masons, Commandery, Abu-Bekr Shrine, BPOE, United Transportation Union, and Alpha Sigma Phi.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, Estherville; three daughters, Ann Jespersen, Cathy Erickson and Mary Johnson, all of the Denver, Colo., area; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. L. A. Miller, Boise, Idaho; and one brother, Merrill Meadows, San Bernardino, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 8, 1977)
