Bessie Huntley Services Monday in Estherville
Mrs. Bessie Huntley, 91, Ceylon, died at 8:05 p.m. May 31, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home at any time Sunday and until noon Monday when the body will be taken to the church.
She was born April 21, 1882, in Carroll County to Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Trucks. She was educated in Carroll County and was married on Aug. 20, 1898, to Lonzo Huntley. Following their marriage, they farmed Carroll County until 1919 when they came to Emmet County and farmed near Wallingford. Mr. Huntley died Oct. 10, 1936. In 1946 she moved with a son, Harold, to a farm near Ceylon.
She is survived by three sons, Ben Huntley of Dolliver, Darrell Huntley of Estherville, and Harold Huntley of Ceylon; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Zitterich of Graettinger, and Mrs. Ola Hansel of Ceylon; 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Huntley was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Roy and Dave, and two grandsons, three sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 1, 1973)
