Mrs. Ed. S. Hoskins Dies Friday at Her Home on East Lawn
Mrs. Edward S. Haskins passed away at her home early Friday morning. For several years she has had a bad heart but it was not until two weeks ago that she took to her bed.

Mrs. Hoskins is the daughter of Michael and Martha Bastian. She was born in Marshall county, Illinois, on April 17, 1866. She received her education in the public schools of Chillicothe, Illinois.

On September 5, 1886, she was united in marriage to Edward S. Hoskins. They settled at once near Wenona, in Marshall County, on a farm where they lived for twelve years. In 1898 they came to Iowa and made their home in Sac County for seven years. Subsequently they moved to South Dakota and for a number of years farmed near Toronto and Clear Lake. Last spring they settled in the East Lawn suburb of Estherville, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her death three children, Mrs. Martha Lillibridge of Clear Lake, S.D., Sane C. Hoskins of Toronto, S.D., and Gale A. Hoskins of Clear Lake, S.D. and one brother of Pekin, Illinois, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Estherville and at Sac City where she was buried.

Mrs. Hoskins was a kind mother and a true wife. She loved children and delighted in making them happy. She was a good neighbor and a constant friend. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 9, 1925)
