Memorial Service Pending for Clarence Hoffman
Memorial services are pending for Clarence Adam Hoffman, 52, Estherville, who died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday [July 18, 1970] at University Hospitals in Iowa City of diabetic complications. He had been hospitalized since April 2. Reese-Henry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hoffman. He attended Estherville High School and Hamilton School of Commerce in Mason City. He was employed as a bookkeeper in Estherville.

On Aug. 9, 1941, he was married to Alberta Weber at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Lance Corp. Dennis Hoffman, Santa Ana, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Georgia) Merriott, Muscatine, Mrs. Marla Peterson and Connie Sue Hoffman, Estherville; two grandchildren, Tom and Sam Merriott of Muscatine; one sister, Mrs. Ted (Esther) Munsterman, Estherville; two brothers, Roy and Vern, both of Mason City.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Nancy, in 1964, and his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 20, 1970)

Memorial Service Set for Clarence Hoffman
A Christian Memorial Service will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home for Clarence Adam Hoffman, 52, Estherville, who died Saturday morning at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He requested his body be given to the College of Anatomy at the University of Iowa for research purposes. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 22, 1970)
