Estherville Man’s Services Saturday
Estherville – Louis George Hoffmeyer, 62, Estherville, passed away Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Va. Hauck officiating and burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

He was born June 18, 1912 at Huntington to Edward and Mary Bettin Hoffmeyer and received his education at Huntington. He was married to Maybell Barlow May 11, 1935 at Spirit Lake and lived his whole life in the Estherville area.

Mr. Hoffman had been employed by the city of Estherville, Morrell’s and Wadco and had been a member of the Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Jerry, Gruver, and Ronald, Estherville; nine grandchildren; eight brothers, August and Frank, Valley City, N.D.; Birney, Sherburn; Floyd, Petersburg; Raymond, Emmetsburg; Earl, Armstrong; and Ryan and Richard, Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Rickel, Valley City, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, five brothers and one sister.

Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements where friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1974)
