Hansen Dies at Age 53 After Attack
Einar Hansen, 53, well known Emmet County farmer, died unexpectedly yesterday at approximately 8 p.m. after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Hansen, who had been doing custom corn picking on the Fred Clayton farm, was returning home for additional tractor fuel when he suffered the fatal attack. He had been driving on the blacktop just west of his home and when he became ill the truck went into a ditch where it stopped at a fence.
Clayton, who was with him, summoned help but Mr. Hansen was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Holy Family Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1913, at Taars, Denmark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Hansen.
He moved, when 10 years old with his parents to the United States and settled on a farm near Ringsted. He attended the rural schools near Armstrong.
Mr. Hansen was married Nov. 20, 1936, to Elenora Madsen at St. John's Lutheran Church near Ringsted.
Mr. and Mrs. Hansen frmed all their married life in the Dolliver and Gruver areas.
He was past president and active member of the Emmet County Beef Producers' Association and was a partner in Ray's Farm Store of Estherville.
Mr. Hansen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jerry of rural Estherville and Jan, a student at Iowa State University at Ames; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Evonne) Oleson of Estherville and Elaine and Francine, both at home.
Four grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Hansen of Estherville; One sister, Mrs. Leslie Babb of Fairmont; and two brothers, Asgar and Hans of rural Estherville.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Family services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Reese-Henry Funeral Home and public services at 2 p.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. David Samuelson officiating. Burial will be at East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time for services. The casket will not be opened after the service.
A memorial has been established by the family.

Funeral Rites this Saturday
Funeral services for Einar Hansen, will be Staurday, an 11 a.m. family service to precede 2 p.m. church services at Estherville Lutheran church.
Burial will be at East Side Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Fank, Louis Feddersen, Lester Kaltvedt, Raymond Sunde, Wayne Crim and Kenneth Rienhardt.
Honorary pallbearers are John Jensen, Linn Foderburg, Beryl Corderman, David Fitzgibbons, Harold Lenox, D. L. McAdams, Dr. Leland Bunge, Paul Meyers, John Klingbeil, Jr., and Paul Neppel.
