Dorothy Hiveley

Services for Dorothy M. Hiveley, 65, Plankinton, S.D., and formerly of Estherville, will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the United Methosdist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Tom Balm and the Rev. Howard Grinager officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. She died Thursday, March 27, 1986 at Michell, S. D.

Dorothy Mae Riggs was born Jan. 6, 1921 in Estherville to Cecil and Lela (Bullis) Riggs and received her education in the Estherville schools graduating from Estherville High School. On Sept. 9, 1944 she was united in marriage to William Hiveley in Jackson, Minn. The couple made their home in Estherville until 1984 when they moved to Plankinton, S. D. she worked outside of her home with her husband. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville and Plankinton.

Suvivors include her husband, Bill, Plankenton S. D.; five daughters, Mrs. Fred (Shirley) Spangler, Eagle Grove,, Mrs. Dale (Sheryl) Williams, Petersburg, Minn., Mrs. Dennis (Ruth) Altman, White Lake, S. D., Mrs. Dan (Becky) Roberts, Lovell, Wyo., and Karen Kearney, stationed with the U.S. Army in Munich, Germany; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Rex Riggs, Dolliver; and a twin sister, Doris Dahna, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
