Mrs. Hansen of Estherville Dies in Minneapolis
Mrs. Marie Hansen of Estherville, died Friday [October 13, 1944] at the Asbury hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. Mrs. Hansen went to Minneapolis recently for a visit and became ill suddenly.Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Herman Origer home.
Mrs. Hansen, who during the past year has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Origer of Estherville, was born Dec. 26, 1865, [per cemetery records 1866] at Halk, Germany, and at the age of 14 came to the United States to make her home. On Nov. 21, 1884, she was united in marriage to Jens Hansen at Sabula. The family moved to Emmet county in1906 and has made its home here most of the time.
Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Herman Origer of Estherville, Mrs. Hugh Rokenbrodt of Alpha, Minn., Mrs. J. C. Lee of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Melvin Anshus, Mrs. A. F. Tilseth, and two sons, Harry Hansen of Menomonie and Captain Raymond Hansen, who is stationed at Australia. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
