Service Monday for Marvin Grebe
Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church in Estherville for Marvin L. Grebe, 52, well known Iowa Highway patrolman who died Friday morning in a Rochester hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been ill two months.

Members of the Iowa State Highway patrol and law enforcement officers throughout northwest Iowa attended the services. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, June 18, 1964)

Highway Patrolman Marvin Grebe, 51, of Estherville, well known in this area, died at St. Mary’s hospital, Rochester last Friday after a long illness. He had been on sick leave for the past two months. Services were held Monday afternoon at the Estherville Methodist church. The officer leaves a wife and one daughter. He had been with the Highway Patrol for 21 years. (Reporter, Emmetsburg, IA, June 16, 1964)

Patrolman Martin Grebe Dies In Rochester, Minn.; Services Held Monday
Highway Patrolman Marvin Grebe, 51, of Estherville, died Friday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He had been on sick leave for two months.

Patrolman Grebe served with the Highway Patrol for the past 21 years and lived in Estherville all that time. He was a graduate of Spencer high school.

He was a member of the Methodist church where he was superintendent of Sunday school He was also a director of the YMCA board in Estherville.

Survivors include: his wife, Byrtha [Gardner], a daughter, Mrs. Marva Simpson of Estherville; two grandchildren; a brother and a sister.

Services were held Monday at the Estherville Methodist church with the Rev. William Knowland officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, June 18, 1964)
