Rose Eglin, 97, Succumbs in Hospital
Rose Sizer Eglin, 96, who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. A.R. Hendrickson, 413 2nd N.W. died Monday morning at a Mason City hospital.

Mrs. Eglin was born June 24, 1860 at Leibrand near Postville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Sizer. She moved with her parents in 1879 to a farm near Spirit Lake. She lived there until her marriage o Henry Eglin, Dec. 31, 1885.

Following her marriage she lived at Estherville for a number of years and later moved to Mason City. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A. R. Hendrickson, Mason City, and Anna Porter, Des Moines; two sons, Mark W. Eglin, Gary, Ind., and Carl F. Eglin, Joliet, Ill.; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1907.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Estherville. The Major Funeral Home is in charge. (Mason City Globe-Gazette, Mason City, IA, November 19, 1956)

Funeral services for Rose Sizer Eglin, 96, who died Monday morning at a Mason City hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Richard L. Williams, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Estherville Cemetery. (Mason City Globe-Gazette, Mason City, IA, November 20, 1956)
