Ardith Evelyn (Meyer) Hutchinson, the daughter of George William and Mildred Lucile (DeLawyer) Meyer, was born March 21, 1929, in Ringsted, Iowa. Ardith passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa, at the age of 81.

She received her education in the Ringsted schools, graduating from Ringsted High School. Ardith was also a member of 4-H in Jack Creek. Following her graduation from high school, Ardith was employed at Emmet County State Bank in Ringsted and Estherville.

On August 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Randall Leland Miller in Ringsted. The couple made their home, farmed and raised their five children north of Ringsted. Ranny passed away in 1981. On September 11, 1989, Ardith was united in marriage to Paul Eugene Hutchinson. After their marriage, the couple spent their winters in Arizona where they enjoyed the mountains and desert. Paul passed away in 1995. In her leisure time she enjoyed embroidery work, crafts, baking, reading magazines, traveling with her family and listening to country music.
Ardith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ringsted where she taught Bible school and Sunday school for several years. She was also a member of the Century and A Half Diet Club in Ringsted.

Left to cherish Ardith's memory are her children, Susan Mueller and her husband, Derald of Ringsted; Sally Smith and her husband, Dennis of Fairmont, Minnesota; Scott Miller and his wife, Lisa of Frisco, Texas; Shawn Miller of Ringsted; Stacy Hanning and her husband, Terry of Armstrong; 4 grandchildren, Terry Steinkuehler, Cami Paulson and her husband, Ryan, Shanee and Shaylee Hanning; 2 great-grandchildren, Chase and Ryanna Paulson; stepson, Steven Hutchinson and his wife, Dalene of Omaha, Nebraska; step-granddaughters, Wendy Hutchinson and Nikki Davis and her husband, Jeff and their family; and many other extended family members and friends.

Preceding Ardith in death were her parents; husbands; brothers, Bernard and Lyle Meyer; and step-children, Pamela Horn and Tom Hutchinson.
