Subject: Death of Orin E. Amundson
1. I sincerely regret to have to report the death of your son, Orin E. Amundson, at 10:30 p.m., June 30th, 1918. Your son was sent to the hospital on June 26th with acute tonsillitis. On the morning of June 30th his condition became more serious, so much that I saw fit to cable you regarding him. 2. His personal effects are being taken care of and will be forwarded to you by the proper authorities. The funeral will be held on July 4th, with full military honors, and complete details of place of burial, etc., will be mailed you as promptly as possible.
3. Orin Amundson was a most excellent soldier, being well liked by his officers and fellow men, and it is with the deepest sympathy, that I have to report his death.
Yours sincerely,
