Glenn Crook’s Mother Dies
Mrs. Eura Groom Crook, a resident of Santa Barbara, Calif., for the past 20 years, died Monday [November 5, 1951] evening of a heart attack after a lingering illness. She was a native of Iowa, born in Des Moines, on Feb. 14, 1883, the daughter of pioneer Iowa residents, John E. and Alice Groom. She was married on Oct. 10, 1903, to Noah E. Crook who preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Glenn H. Crook, of Estherville, and Jock M. Crook of Santa Barbara; one sister, Mrs. A. D. Bacci of Los Angeles and two brothers, Ralph K. Groom and Glenn Groom, both of Santa Barbara. There are four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, in the Sternborg funeral chapel, the Rev. L. G. Hinderaker officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 9, 1951)
