Rites Held Today for Lloyd Crim
Lloyd E. Crim, 68, longtime Estherville cattle buyer, died Wednesday [July 3, 1957] at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital as a result of a heart condition. Mr. Crim had been hospitalized for the past week.Funeral services for Mr. Crim were conducted today at 10 a.m. at Sternborg Funeral Chapel, the Rev. William R. Noland of First Methodist officiating.
Mr. Crim was born Aug. 18, 1888 and was united in marriage to the former Gay Shaffer, June 28, 1911, at Grundy Center. Mrs. Crim died Aug. 27, 1956.
Prior to John Morrell and Company coming to Estherville, Mr. Crim had served as head cattle buyer for Tobin’s for many years. He then was with Morrell’s until retirement about two years ago due to poor health.
Mr. Crim was a member of both the Elks and Masonic lodges.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Serge (Carol) Agadjanian of Lynbrook, Long Island, N.Y.; two sons, Bob of Mason City and James of Sioux City; a brother, Willard Crim of Estherville and two sisters, Mrs. Clem Luikart of Minneapolis and Mrs. George Robb, Estherville. Also surviving are six grandchildren.
Burial following the service this morning was in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Crim’s body had laid in state at Sternborg’s from noon yesterday until time of the service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 5, 1957)
