Lloyd Edmunds, 52, Dies; Rites to be Thursday
Lloyd Odin Edmunds, 52, died at 9 p.m. Monday evening in Holy Family Hospital in Estherville from cancer. He had been ill for five years.

He was born June 8, 1917, at Amidon, N.D., to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Edmonds. He was educated at Bremerton, Wash., and graduated from high school in 1938. He came to Estherville in 1945 and worked for the Hill Packing Plant and later for Morrell’s.

He was married Nov. 20, 1948, to LaVerne Rick at Fairmont, Minn.

He was a member of the VFW in Estherville and the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerne; three sons, Jerry Edmunds, Estherville, David Edmunds, attending school in Denver, Colo., and Ralph Burge, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Beverly) Smith, Estherville; five grandchildren; one brother, Gayhart Edmunds, Dells, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Mackay, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Myrtle Grim, Viroqua, Wis., and Mrs. George Berschied, Carroll.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. H. Allen Wirtz will officiate.

Pallbearers will be William Ohrtman, D. J. Novak, Robert Potter, John Theesfeld, Leter Bergeson, and Harold Brazee.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral home anytime until 11 a.m. on Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1970)
