George Case, 88, Dies
George Case, 88, of Estherville died at 4:47 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital. He had been ill for many years. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Sternborg Funeral home. The Rev. Harrison G. Dawes will officiate. A complete obituary will be published later by the Daily News. He was the father of Leland Case of Estherville. Last Rites Held for George Case
Funeral services for George A. Case, 88, of Estherville were held at 9:30 this morning at the Sternborg Funeral home with the Rev. Harrison G. Dawes officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Case was born Jan. 22, 1867 at Fairfield. He died Wednesday at Holy Family hospital after suffering a stroke on July 26.

He was married to Mary Swope in 1892. The couple moved to Emmet county the same year and Mr. Case engaged in farming. Later they moved to Estherville where Mr. Case was for many years town marshal and constable.

Survivors include his widow, a son, Leland of Estherville, a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Crissey of Webster City, and Genevieve Grontham of Rock Island, Ill., who had made her home with the Cases since childhood. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 5, 1955)
