Services for Mrs. Bendixen Held Monday at Terril
Funeral Services were held Monday, Jan. 20, for Mrs. Katrina Bendixen at the Terril Methodist church with the Rev. Herman Smith officiating. Burial was in Oakhill cemetery at Estherville. Pall bearers were Leonard and Roy Bendixen of Estherville, Virgil Reed of Spirit Lake, Frank Hodge of Milford and Romaine and Charles Bendixen of Iowa City.

Mrs. Bendixen suffered a stroke in September of 1957 and another December 29. She was taken to Holy Family hospital at Estherville January 3, where she died Friday evening, January 17. She was 87 years, 1 month and 27 days of age.

Katrina Christina Mueller was born Nov. 22, 1870, in Denmark. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a young girl.

She and her boyhood sweetheart, M. Bendixen, came to this country in 1893. They worked in Emmet country for two years before they married on May 21, 1895. They farmed in Emmet country until 1921, when they moved to Terril.

To this union were born 10 children, five of whom preceded their parents in death. Her husband passed away April 19, 1955.

Left to mourn her passing are five children: Christian, Louis, August, Howard and Pearl (Mrs. Clayton Wilcox); 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, as well as a host of friends. (The Terril Record, Terril, IA, January 1958)

Final Rites Monday for Mrs. Katrina Bendixen
Funeral services for Mrs. Katrina Bendixen, 78, long time Terril resident who died Friday night at the Holy Family hospital in Estherville were conducted in the Terril Methodist church Monday with the Rev. Herman Smith officiating.

Mrs. Bendixen was born in Denmark and came to this country in 1893. In 1895, she was united in marriage to Mettinus Bendixen and in 1921 they moved to Terril where they had lived since.

Survivors include: four sons, Christian, Louis, August and Howard; one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Pearl) Wilcox; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Estherville Oak Hill cemetery. (The Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, January 12, 1958)
