Death Comes to William Woodyard, 64
William Woodyard, 64, died at 4 p.m. yesterday at his home at 402 South 13th street. He had been ill with cancer for three years.He was born Jan. 21, 1888, in Des Moines and attended the rural schools in Sac county. He married Retta Burt on Feb. 24, 1909, at Rockwell City, who died in February, 1947. On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Bessie Ward of Los Angeles, Calif., at Jackson, Minn.
A resident of Emmet county 44 years, he has been proprietor of Angler’s Bay boat livery for the past five years.
Surviving his death are his wife; two sons, Lawrence and Floyd of Estherville; two step children, Harold Bishop and Mrs. Omar Jensenson of Boise, Ida.; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He also is survived by four brothers, Harry, Manuel, Lloyd and Glen, all of Estherville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sternborg funeral home and at 1:30 at the Methodist church, the Rev. H. H. Dill officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1952)
