Miss Wratten Dies Suddenly in Chicago
Been in Poor Health All Her Life; No Funeral Plans Made

Miss Lillian Wratten, 31, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Wratten of Estherville, died suddenly yesterday morning in a Chicago hospital, where she has been working since July. Although Miss Wratten has had poor health all her life her death was a shock to her family and her many friends.

Mrs. Walter Wratten and son, Harry, went to Chicago Wednesday night and will accompany the body here Friday morning. No definite funeral arrangements can be made until they return to Estherville.

Miss Wratten was born in Estherville on Sept. 18, 1903 and has lived here practically all of her life. She received her education in the local schools.

Besides her parents she is survived by four sisters, Mrs. J. L. Paul and Mrs. Otto Klein of Estherville, Mrs. John Benson of Dayton and Mrs. Roy Stoddard of Denver, Colo., and two brothers, Walter S. Wratten Jr. of Fairbury, Nebr., and Harry Wratten of Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 15, 1934)

Miss Lillian Wratten Died While Visiting in Chicago, Ill.

Miss Lillian Wratten passed away last Wednesday at the home of her brother in Chicago. She had been there for a visit when taken suddenly ill. Miss Wratten is a graduate of the Estherville schools. She is thirty-one years of age and was born and reared in this city, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wratten.

Mrs. Wratten and her son, Harry, went to Chicago as soon as they received the message and returned with the remains. The funeral services were held in St. Patrick’s church on Saturday morning at nine o’clock, the Rev. Savage officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery south of the city. Miss Wratten is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wratten, pioneer residents of this city and by two brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Enterprise Estherville, IA, November 21, 1934)
