Mrs. Beneta Williams Passed Away Monday
Ill But a Short Time – Death Was Caused by Pneumonia
Funeral Tomorrow
People of this community were very much grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Walter C. Williams which occurred on Monday night about 11:30 o’clock at her home northeast of this city. Her death was caused by pneumonia. About two months ago Mrs. Williams slipped on the sidewalk and broke her limb. She was taken to the hospital and about two weeks ago she was removed to the home of her grandmother, Mrs. G. W. Meyer, on the west side. Her condition seemed sufficiently improved to warrant her being taken to her home on Tuesday of last week. While being taken there she contracted a cold which resulted in pneumonia. Her illness was of but short duration. Beneta Fern Meyers was born on April 18, 1901, at Watertown, S. Dak. When but three and one-half years of age her mother passed away and she came here to make her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Meyers. She attended the public schools and when ten years of age returned to Watertown where she lived three years. Returning to Estherville when she was fourteen years old she again entered the local schools beginning her high school work. She continued until illness prevented her from finishing her course. In September, 1921, she was united in marriage to Walter C. Williams, of near Huntington, and they have made their home on a farm nine miles northeast of this city since that time. Mrs. Williams was well known to local people and has a host of friends who will regret to learn of her passing away. She was a quiet and unassuming person and was always ready to do her share in helping someone else. She was a dutiful wife and her passing away leaves a vacancy in the home which will never be filled. Besides her husband she is survived by her grandmother, several brothers and a large circle of friends and relatives. They sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family in their hours of sorrow. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Christian church, of which Mrs. Williams was a devoted member, Rev. H. C. Olmstead, of the local Christian church officiating. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, March 4, 1925)

Mrs. Walter Williams Dies of Pneumonia
Had Been Ill But Short Time – Suffered Broken Limb Several Weeks Ago
Mrs. Walter Williams passed away at her home near Huntington Tuesday morning [March 3, 1925] at a little after midnight. Her death came as a great shock as she had been ill but a short time with pneumonia.

Several weeks ago Mrs. Williams fell on the ice and broke her leg. After a short stay in the Coleman hospital she was taken to the home of her grandmother, Mrs. George Meyers on the west side. Less than a week ago it was thought that she was far enough recovered to be taken home, and it was probably on this trip that she contracted the cold that quickly developed in to pneumonia.

Mrs. Williams, or Bonita Meyers, as she was known to the many friends who had loved her since childhood, was born on April 18, 1901 at Watertown, S.D. When but a babe her mother died and she was brought to Estherville and raised by her grandmother. She attended our public schools including the high school which she left to marry Walter Williams two years ago last September. She is survived by her husband, father Will Meyers, grandmother and uncles and an aunt to all of whom she was especially dear because of her unusually sweet and winsome personality.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon from the Christian church following a brief prayer service at the farm home. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, March 4, 1925)
