S. H. Williams Dies After Attack of Double Pneumonia
S. H. Williams, one of Estherville’s pioneer business men passed away at the Birney hospital last Thursday afternoon after an illness of about two weeks.

Mr. Williams, who for years ran a drug store in this city, was a well known business man. He was successful in the business and later he sold the business, purchased farm land and retired, working in drug stores at times.

About two weeks ago he evidently caught cold while doing some work at his farm. He came home and while not feeling well, kept at work in the Estherville drug store. He became suddenly ill and went home but not to the hospital for a few days. He seemed to be getting along fine until double pneumonia developed and his condition was not able to withstand this.

The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Williams is survived by his son, Porter, who now lives in California. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Christensen met him in Omaha where he arrived by plane. Mrs. Porter Williams was already in the city caring for Mr. Williams. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1934)
