Glen Whitish Dies Wednesday
Glen LeRoy Whitish, 58, Estherville, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital following an illness of a month and a half.Whitish was born April 16, 1913, at Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whitish. He received his education in Estherville schools and was graduated from Estherville High School.
On Oct. 22, 1939, he was married to Elsie DeWall at Emmetsburg. He lived his entire life at Estherville except for 1942-45 when he lived at Los Angeles.
Whitish operated a Standard in Estherville for 13 years and for the past 17 years had been employed as electrician at Olson Electric Co. at Estherville.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Estherville.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie, Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Karen) Iverson, Durant; Mrs. Quentin (Barbara) Kuyter, Pella; and Mrs. Bill (Janet) Zwick, Cherokee; three grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Whitish, South Gate, Calif.; and two brothers, Melvin Whitish, Long Beach, Calif.; and Ervin Whitish, South Gate, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one infant sister.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Estherville with the Rev. Ronald Flentgen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home at Estherville from 10 a.m. Friday until noon Saturday.
