Mrs. Wilson Towell Dies
Mrs. Wilson (Arlene) Towell, 45 well known Estherville resident, died today at 9:10 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital where she had been a patient for more than three months. Death was attributed to cancer.

Mrs. Towell, the former Arlene Laken of Estherville, is survived by one son, James, a student at Mankato State College, Mankato, Minn., and her mother, Mrs. Floyd (Lenna) Laken, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Funeral of Mrs. Towell Tomorrow
Funeral services will be held Saturday for Mrs. Wilson (Arlene) Towell, 45, who died here yesterday morning at Holy Family Hospital of a lingering illness.

Family services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home and public services will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Noland officiating. Burial is to be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Towell, the former Arlene Laken, was born Aug. 16, 1918, at Iowa Falls, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lakin. She lived most of her life in the Estherville area.

On June 2, 1940, she married Wilson Towell at Estherville. Mr. Towell died May 27, 1959.

She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, James, who is attending Mankato State College at Mankato, Minn., and her mother.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Pallbearers for the services will be C. W. Robinson, Jack Sanders, Jim McKay, Russ VanHorn, Lyle Lastine and Merle Yule.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to lie in state at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 25, 1963)
