Casper Stoery Passed Away After Long Illness
Casper Stoery, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Anton Stoery, was born in Switzerland on April 17, 1862, and passed away at his home in Estherville on November 30, 1931, at the age of sixty-nine years, seven months, and thirteen days.He came to America when he was seventeen years old and lived with an uncle at St. Paul, Minn. Later he moved to Elgin, and from there to Estherville. He has been an employee of the railroad company for forty-two years. On April 2, 1865, he was married to Mary Gerber. To this union one son was born, Anton Stoery, of Estherville. He united with the Elgin Baptist Church in 1885, and at the time of his death was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Estherville, living a consistent Christian life.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, his son, Anton, two grandchildren, and a brother, The Reverend Thomas Stoery, of St. Louis, Missouri. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 9, 1931)
