Mrs. Mary Stoery Died at Nine O’clock This Morning
Mrs. Mary E. [Gerber] Stoery, 73, died at nine o’clock this morning at the home of her son, Anton Stoery. The cause of her death was diabetes.

Mrs. Stoery has made her home in the city since the fall of 1909. Her husband preceded her in death three years ago.

As we go to press funeral arrangements have not been made.

Mrs. Stoery is survived by one son, Anton. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1934)

Early Settler Passes to Reward Yesterday Morning
Mrs. Caspar Stoery, mother of Anton Stoery, died Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock at the home of her son where she has been confined to her bed since Thanksgiving day morning. She has been in poor health for the past two years.

Mrs. Stoery was born in Switzerland on Sept. 1, 1861 and came to America in the year 1881. She went to Elgin, Fayette county, where she was married on Nov. 30, 1884. Mr. and Mrs. Stoery moved to Estherville in the fall of 1909.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who died three years ago, and is survived by her son, his wife and three children, Betty Renee, Sammy and Tommy of Estherville and two brothers and one sister in Switzerland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist church with the Rev. Frank Yearnd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 13, 1934)
