W. A. Stone Dies in South
Was Formerly Resident and a Business Man of This City Engaged in Photography
The remains of W. A. Stone, a former resident of this city, were brought here for interment this a.m. by his wife, who is a daughter of E. A. Ingvall. Mr. Stone has been in poor health for a long time and left here some years ago to seek the benefit of a milder climate. He passed away at Kansas City, Kansas on Monday last, March 6th.The funeral will be held at the Free Methodist Church tomorrow afternoon and interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 8, 1922)

W. A. Stone was born at Rochester, Minn., the 22nd of October in 1862. He moved with his parents to a claim in Minnesota where he grew to manhood and where he met Miss Emma Rust whom he married in the summer of 1884. To this union three children were born all whom survive him. They are Almon and Howard Stone and Mrs. Verna McCabe of Kansas City, Kansas. His wife died in the year of 1904 and was laid to rest in Oakhill cemetery.

Mr. Stone was well known her as a photographer, and was here until his health failed. And it was here he met Miss Felda Ingvall and was married March 26, 1906. To this union one child was born, Miss Esther Irene Stone of Kansas City, Mo., whom with her mother also survive him, and from here he went to New Mexico for his health. He tried in various ways to regain it but after leaving New Mexico he finally settled in Kansas City where he remained until his death came the 6th day of March at 3:05 p.m.

Short services were held in Kansas City and remains were brought here for burial.

Services were held at the Free Methodist church Thursday, March 9, in the afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 15, 1922)
