Peter Smithberg ?-1905

Peter Smithberg, a former resident of Estherville and a brother of Mrs. Elias of this city, died in a hospital at Peoria, Ill., Tuesday afternoon of last week. Mr. Smithberg was engaged in the blacksmithing business while here and conducted a shop where Harry Eglin is now located. He is said to have been very wealthy, a portion of which is left to Mrs. Elias. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1905)
