Gerald Mester, 3, Dies
A short sojourn in this life was ended Thursday for little Gerald Mester, 3 years old son of Mrs. Wilma Mester of this city. He was the son of the late Clarence A. Mester. The child was born blind and failed to develop mentally. He was taken to the hospital at Woodward after every attempt had been made to effect a cure and it was there that he passed away of a respiratory infection. The long hot summer had weakened him.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Harry Bowers on West Des Moines street with Rev. M. A. Lowe in charge. Pall bearers were Fred and Robert Nichols, Pat Kelly and Robert Sanders. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 18, 1934)
