Dies At Kansas City
Mrs. Arthur D. (Lily) McWilliams, lifetime resident of Estherville, died yesterday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., where she had been a patient for about two weeks. She is survived by a son, Donald, of Anaheim, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Darwin Rasmussen of Spirit Lake. Mr. McWilliams died June 23, 1962. Mrs. McWilliams’ body is being returned to Estherville today. Funeral services are pending at Fuhrman Funeral Home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 26, 1963)

Rites Held Friday for Mrs. McWilliams
Funeral services were held Friday at Estherville for Mrs. Arthur (Lillie) McWilliams, 57, of Estherville, former Graettinger resident. Services were held at the First Methodist church with the Rev. William R. Noland, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery at Estherville. The Fuhrman Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Edwin Sorum, William R. Sidles, Lloyd Gardner, Viggo Jacobsen, Dale Erickson and Francis Shadle.

Mrs. McWilliams died Monday afternoon, Nov. 25, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She had undergone heart surgery at St. Luke’s in June, 1962. Since that time she had been in failing health and had been hospitalized several times.

Mrs. McWilliams was a lifetime member of First Methodist church in Estherville and was an active member of W.S.C.S. so long as her health permitted. She also was a member of the Estherville Woman’s Club and had been active in work of the club for several years.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William V. Sweet, Lily Sweet was born Oct. 24, 1906 in Estherville. She attended the Estherville elementary school and graduated from Estherville high school after which she attended a business college in Chillicothe, Mo. After graduation from college she worked in Kansas City as a secretary.

She was married to Arthur D. McWilliams on Sept. 1, 1928 in Kansas City and following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. McWilliams lived in Dallas, Tex. Upon moving to Iowa they lived in the Lake Park area and at Graettinger before moving to Estherville in 1950.

Mrs. McWilliams is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Darwin (Gwendolyn) Rasmussen of Spirit Lake; on son, Donald of Anaheim, Calif., and six grandchildren. Also surviving her death are a brother, Edward J. Sweet of Independence, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. J. J. (Pearl) Youngwirth of Raytown, Mo. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, December 5, 1963)
