The community was shocked on Monday afternoon when it was announced that Mrs. Grace Fredericksen, wife of Dr. Fredericksen, had passed away very suddenly in her rooms in the Gardson Hotel. The news came so suddenly that no one could realize the truthfulness of the story.
Mr. and Mrs. Fredericksen had been visiting with friends in Ringsted on Sunday. She was then apparently in perfect health. Only on Saturday she had boasted to friends, she never felt better in her life.
On Monday morning she was taken ill about five o'clock in the morning. Medical aid was called and she apparently felt better during the day.
In the afternoon Mrs. Blakey was with her in her rooms. She seemed to be somewhat better. She was sitting up in bed talking to Mrs. Blakey when she said she did not feel as well and asked for a drink of water. After drinking the water she suddenly fell back in bed as if in a faint. Mrs. Drey, who was passing the room was called in thinking Mrs. Fredericksen had fainted. Medical aid was again called but she had passed away before aid reached her.
Mrs. Fredericksen was a prominent society lady of the city and gave many social functions. She, with her husband, moved to this city several years ago and he engaged in the practice of dentistry.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and two daughters Thursday afternoon in the Grace Episcopal Church.
