Geo. Lorimer, Jr., Dies in Hospital
Funeral Services Held This Afternoon

George Lorimer, Jr., died Monday morning of a blood clot on the heart in a local hospital following an operation for appendicitis and gall stones. He had been in the hospital several weeks and he grew steadily weaker following an acute attack of appendicitis.

Funeral services were held this morning at the Lorimer home here and the body was taken to Spirit Lake this afternoon for burial. The services were conducted by the Rev. P. A. Davis.

George Lorimer, Jr., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Lorimer and was born May 8, 1893, at Hoprig. He grew to manhood at Hoprig and attended school at Buena Vista college at Storm Lake and at the Capital City Commercial college at Des Moines.

He was made assistant cashier of the Gruver Savings bank and then held the same position in the Farmers and Merchants State bank at Spirit Lake. Later he was put in charge of the insurance and farm loan department of the First National bank here. In 1923 Mr. Lorimer formed an insurance partnership with Clarence Mathieson which proved to be very successful.

While employed at Spirit Lake Mr. Lorimer met Miss Lucile Miller, to whom he was married May 1, 1920. To this marriage one daughter was born, Miss Betty Lou. Besides his wife and daughter Mr. Lorimer is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Lorimer and a sister, Miss Mildred Lorimer. He was a member o the Masonic order and was active in the Blue Lodge and Chapter. He united with the Presbyterian church when a young man and was one of the trustees of the church here at the time of his death. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, August 15, 1928)
